360 GLT 2.0 Injection Fuel pump

Post by Ozbrick » 05 Dec 2008 07:59 am

Hi mates!

My fuel pump is on the gurgler! Can someone please tell me which is the appropriate one for a 1985 360 GLT? Various mechanical and electric pumps on eBay claim to be the correct one but I need to know for sure. Massive pressure drop on priming, I can't even tell where it is to look!.

Cheers,
Rob E

If you want a genuine Bosch pump, there's a suitable replacement pump available in Bosch' replacement pump-program (5 pumps to replace 72 OEM Bosch pumps) but I don't remember the part number and I'm at the uni now. I'll check both part numbers when I'll get home, the old OEM pump number and the new replacement pump number.

Of course any other electrical EFI pressure pump will do fine also as long as it has same or more capacity as the stock one. I can post the specs for the stock pump later also. Mechanical pumps and electric pumps meant for carb engines won't work because those can't build enough pressure for the EFI. The pump you are after looks like this.

There are two Bosch part no. I can pick out:

0 580 464 022 for the genuine electric pump and
0 580 464 069 as a universal one which should do the same job.

As for location on a RHD car it's on the drivers side infront of the rear wheel and mounted to the inside of a mounting plate iirc
