Draining coolant on 360

Post by bogbasic » 01 Jan 2005 08:44 pm

Hello, is there a drain plug on the engine of a 360 for draining the anti-freeze? The Haynes manual says there is but is vague about where it is.
It took me several years before I found it on a 340, so without help, this could take longer on the 360. Draining the antifreeze just from the bottom radiator hose doesn't get it all out, so any clues much appreciated.

If i'm not mistaking the little drainpipe is under the exhaustmanifold. Turn the heather to max, and you can drain it all.

Correct me if i'm wrong.....

yea, its just under the exhaust manifold. all you need to do is pull the plug for it to drain, though it sounds like it hasnt been drained for ages so it might need unblocking, my old 360 did and i'm sure my current one will.
I had no problems cleaning the blockage, after i got the blockage, i gave it a blast of water in the drain plug, then circulated water through the system normally till crap stopped coming out.

Thanks again, I found the drain plug below the exhaust manifold at the back of the engine. It undid easily and drained well but not a trace of antifreeze in the water.
