Yes it has worked absolutely fine, I think. I did use a Sytec billet one before that but I had modified it because the bores were very small in the 12mm adaptors so I was worried about the strength. Most filters are designed for pressure side applications and are fine mesh. This one needs to be more of a gauze/strainer to maintain good flow.

I do get fuel cut on long right hand corners on the track, and the orginal has a little offset that "might" help it last a little longer if its orientated correctly, as it drains out nearer the bottom, otherwise it flows well. I'm pretty sure the original will suffer fuel cut too.

Yes you need to pinch the pipe, but the old one can be pretty stiff. Might be a good idea to get replacement pipe and good quality stainless clamps at the same time, and just block it as best you can, catch the excess in a tub.
