Would that be Kenneth, by any chance?
cheers

i personaly need 16, another 32 is what ^ and another person would like, but not "need".
the penta units are exactly the same, i've got the greenbooks on both.
and yes, i'm a silly yank, but i'm in the south, so i'm a rebel from the rebel country.

you need to modify the petrol tank to have a feed and return big enough to cope with the increased fuel demand. I did this all in the tank sender unit, adding a new outlet fed from a subaru impreza turbo in tank pump, and used the stock outlet port for the return line. you could use an external fuel pump, but this means having an outlet welded into the bottom of the tank. The standard 340 fuel lines are too small to flow enough fuel, and wont cope with the fuel pressures involved

So you didn't switch the tank... you made some modifications, right?
The fuel pump from the 440 Turbo fits in the 340 1.7 fuel tank???
Is there any way to fit the fuel tank from the 440 in the 340? That would be awesome

I did mot modify the tank itself, only the sender unit, but its not easy, the hole in the tank is only just big enough to get the subaru pump in, I think the 400 pump is quite a bit bigger than the hole in the top of the tank, but I am not sure as I have not tried this

Thanks for the quick reply
Well, i guess i'm gonna take the shot of trying to fit the pump. If doesn't fit, i will probably go for a tank replacement... One of these have to work

with hindsight I feel quite silly to have dumped the remains of my RIP 1.7 block... (would have been brilliant as parts donor for such a conversion...)

One more day...
the engine is out, and everything that needs to be swapped between the two motors is ready.
By the away... Ho much power will the 340 1.7 cluch handle?
Cause I can't put the 440 one....
These was the only thing that do not occurs how it is planned... that and the front engine mounts that have breaked...

Use a 400 turbo clutch cover plate, and a stock 1.7 340 centre plate, that will cope with about 160 bhp, it WILL slip after that

The stock 300 clutch will only cope with about 120 bhp WHEN NEW. This is all assuming the flywheel is 200mm, very late 400's had a 215 mm clutch, so you cant use the 300 centre plate

My B18FT is from a 91 440, so no problem...
That's what I do, 340 cluch and 440 cover plate. But my 340 cluch is not new... maybe it will slip.. Searching for a new one in EBAY (damn expensive in Volvo!)
I'm not tincking to go more than 150bhp... but if I want.. what cluch should I use?
Well... today I've put the engine in the car... Let's see what surprises will I find now
