lol, be that as it may it was cheaper than I could get a K over here (and secretly you are slightly jealous

) and it came with an adjustable cam gear for free so I can move the torque curve a little bit

If you search really hard, you might find what I paid for my last K cam from Carl. Admittedly, I robbed him...
True....there is something pimp about having a fairly rare cam. I'm claiming rarity rights on my K cam though, as it actually came from a 343 R-Sport engine, not a 240. /nerd

I know you robbed carl!!! that was the cheekiest amount of money for a cam ever, regardless of spec! I'm just looking forward to the lumpier idle and lack of discernable power until 3k

(though apparently the gains between a k and H do increase a little if a decent exhaust is added and other such changes are made)

I'm afraid I think you'll be sadly disappointed. My K purrs like a kitten at idle, and made 140lbft (peak was 145) at 2250rpm. They're not *that* hot, really. I'd say they're about perfect for a 'fast road' 8v redblock.
cheers

I'm basically going to head towards volvo original rally engine spec, they seem to get a decent 165bhp out of an NA with stock bits

Didn't I give you that brand new D cam for free? Cheeky boy
I only passed the K cam on for what I got it for, so I'd already robbed someone else. Didn't want to be ripping my 360 brothers off

It will have the code printed on a sticker at the top of the cambelt cover. Other info beyond that is indeed Foggy's department.

It'll be a B230K. Which version it is depends on which year it is. Look for the code on the head between exhaust ports 2 & 3 - starting 1000xxx. It'll either read 530, or 631. 631 will be from a later car, and is a 'Heron' design (with the combustion chamber in the pistons, and a flat cylinder head) like the Renault 1.7 in the 340.

Nothing wrong with it...it's just useful to know that there's no point in looking for a 531 head for it! Not that a stock 531 is a worthwhile upgrade anyway...
Stick a set of Webers on it, and you'd be laughing. It's probably a better behaved chamber than the standard 530/531 layout anyway.
cheers
