Where to get exhaust manifold gaskets?

Post by Grendel » 28 Apr 2005 02:03 pm

I have a :340: 1988 Volvo 340GL 1.4 which needs the exhaust manifold changed over. I got a second hand manifold from daffodil on route in the post but now need the gaskets to fit it. I thought halford would have them in stock but apparently not. They have to be ordered. Anyone got an idea of where else I could get hold of one sooner than ordering through Halfords? All I need is both gaskets and gasket sealant.

EDIT: Just got e-mail from Volvo parts departments only £7.65 so not bad :D Pick it up tommorrow then hopfully the manifold will be here at weekend for me to fit. 340pw The Volvo WILL live on!

Took the cowards way out and got it booked into garage up the road. That way if they damage anything its there fault not mine. Since I cannot risk the car being off the road if I break anything with my cack handed mechanics. It also needs a few other things checked out so made more sense to get them to check everything while there at it. Thanks for the parts.

Just got car back from garage. They changed Manifold only to find down pipes where knackered as well so thy had to be changed I also got them to check rear breaks which wear binding so they striped and re-build them and all that work for the price of £140. All I can say is it better pass the MOT in August now otherwise anyone fancy a tatty 340 with near new exhaust system.lol
