Air Flow meter for 360GLT B200E

Post by kelvingenders » 26 Jan 2011 11:56 am

Does anyone know if there are Bosch Le Jetronic equivalents from the the 240/740/940 range that would fit into a 360GLT B200E. Can you buy them brand new still in the UK?

Unfortunately the 2/7/9 series don't use LE-jet, and I'm pretty sure they went from K-jet which is a mechanical system, straight through to Motronic which uses a mass air flow sensor rather than the flappy paddle meter in the 360.

I've no idea whether they're still available, certainly Volvo don't have them, but might Bosch still sell them? Very doubtful....

Whilst being very basic they don't go wrong very often. Can I ask why you need one?

Green book lists the resistances of the tracks, it's worth looking at... (gets thinking cap on) mk1 vauxhall cavielers (only better spelt ones though), Porsche 914 ish, VW type 4's, and I think... e30 318's. I'm pretty certain all ran either L or LE jet (likely some more too) and I can't imagine the flappy thing was changed much but you'll have to do the research.

Certainly the AMM on clios/R19/Megane/espace/440/850/Nova/Corsa/a squillion and 10 other things are all the same, I can't imagine Bosch would invent more things than required.

This is a fairly comprihensive list of what part fits on what car...

Should give you a list of LE/L jet cars and what flappy paddle's they run at least

Air flow meter, if you have a look inside, the only thing that measures the air going past is a paddle that flaps in the wind

they had two types of connections the older 3rd series had the same as volvo i think models till 1989, i had from `88 with 1.8l and it fit perfectly ;)
also as i had made some search when i was looking for meter for myself i found that from old 5 series (E28 i think) with a 2.0l V6 the meter should fit in to volvo,
but those bmw are rear thing in eastern europe, don`t know about down under :)
