I've got a 440 turbo, not been on the road for a while but while is was never had any problems. Had a water pump changed thats all. Similar engine to the 1.7 340 but with turbo. I think it fits ok but same changes need to inlet manifold I think to avoid fouling the heater box. Other people on here know more about this I think, try a search.

Didn't Chris C start this conversion but decided to undertake a welding apprenticeship instead?

Perhaps he can help?

Isn't there some issue with the turbo getting in the way of the brake master cylinder?

I'm not going to bite. I'm not. Not even a lil bit.

GIT

Anyway, to the OP, http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... f=2&t=5807 theres a bit of info there. I'm pretty sure that there will be same engine mount issues that the F7x has... but no proof yet.

ok cheers guys for the post's and sorry on the delayed re-post have had a lot going this year, i have now managed to land a 440 turbo through a freind so hopefully will have this show on the rd over the winter months or even better in the next couple of months. Does any one know if you need to put the 440 suspension on the 340 or is the 340 suspension goog enough to take the turbo engine/power etc? many thanks Dan 340pw sm2 sm4

Mines running landrover shocks 2" lowering blocks and lowered springs. Bit hard for a daily but I like it ;-)

Not sure on the standard stuff but I'm assuming if it's all new or good condition it should be fine.
