renault 5 conversion?

ive been told that the stock b14 4e 1.4 engine is fundimentaly the same as the renault 5 gt, without the obvious differences like having a turbo fitted.
my question is...
is there any truth to this? if so would it be possible to take an old renault 5 and take the parts from it that are different, fit them to a b14 4e and essentialy convert it?


or have i once again been fed a load of bo***cks?
