need help its not a volvo thou its a v8
right ive got a rover v8 im working on the head gaskets have gone or one of them either way the problem is i cant shift one of the head bolts on the left bank
ive tried hitting the head of the bolt lots no good, big ass breaker bar nope and with torque on it hitting top of the breaker bar and i mean both hands full swing with a big hummer, impact gun the bolt just laughed at it, you cant get heat down there either its to close to other shit not sure what else to try it just wont move ive snapped two socket one was a impact socket and snapped a impact extension bar any tips guys

Try and tighten it up first, then try to undo it.

ive tried that it does usually work
i think i may try and over tighten it to snap it and hope it doesnt snap in the block and then remove whats left

Borrow a bigger breaker bar, eg 3/4", 6 sided socket.
Or how about dremel, or a thin grinder disk around the base of the bolt head to release the tension. Or cut it off/drill out, then remove the head and you can get at the shaft.

thing is you cant get in to cut it its in hard enough place just to get a socket on and you cant let it soak as the liquid just runs down into the block haha
i think when the rain stops its allways raining lately im just going to snap it by over tightening it and just hope it snaps the shank not the thread in the block

Can you get at it with a drill and drill the through the head first. Even if you only get a smallish hole through it will take a lot less to snap it.

Thats a good idea and would make the fail point nice and high i will try this thanks fella
but first a friend is going to borrow me his bigger compressor and nut gun to see if that will shift it
