f7p eating crank sensors

iv never really heard of this happening before but its in a garage and the guy said the crank sensor had been eaten by the flywheel so he fitted a new 1 and the same thing happened

there should be a air gap between them measure using a non ferrous feeler gauge
i think you shim them out if there not right
but ive never heard of it before

im not really sure whats going on i had no problem with the crank sensor then i took it in to a garage and told them i think my dizzy caps damp and they start sayin your car cant have ever been ran we fitted a new crankshaft sensor and it ate it instantly
