F7P Weak Spark.

Post by Bodyman » 20 Feb 2012 08:23 pm

Car got all wet and has been struggling starting, but has struggled on.

Today I took off the coil pack and dried it out because it refused to start. And still it refuses to start !

The spark is very weak from the coil - I can hold the king lead terminal while cranking the engine and I can feel the HT Clicking, but it's not uncomfortable.

NEW COIL ?

It's a 12301 Coil mate,

Yeah had a few headaches, but luckilly i have a very understanding and gorgeous girlfriend that drops me off at work when it's dead.

But when it is running, jesus it's good fun, as you saw ;).

New coil will be here in the morning, so should be sorted! Woohoo.

Doing my rat in now this.

New genuine Renault coil fitted, still extremely weak spark.

Only thing I can think now is ignition module

im assuming you checked the dizzy. howd it get wet? rain with the bonnet off, or driving through a river crossing? plugs could be fried, pos the ht leads too. electricity and water dont mix at all. could have fried a lot of stuff.

Faulty condensor would cause weak spark.
