driveshaft

Post by arekpol » 14 Jul 2005 10:17 am

Hi,
My 340 has a driveshaft which needs to be replaced soon. I found a used one really cheap but it's from a 340 with automatic transmition and diesel engine. Can anyone tell me if it will work with mine 340 if it has manual transmition and 1.7 engine?

Arek.

no. all automatics have the same shaft, and all manuals have the same shaft.

it doesnt surprise me - the diesel is the same from the clutch back as a 1.4, except much slower. i dread to think how slow the auto was :)

The driveshaft I found was on something like ebay, the guy said that it was from his 343 diesel automatic. I haven't seen an automatic diesel either. Anyway looking at how weak the engine is and how slow the car is with manual transmition it must be like a turtle with automatic :)

simply ask is it fastened with clamps or without...you need that one WITH clamps...
