Fuel pressure regulator

Hey all just a quick question, as I've heard bad reviews about these adjustable fuel pressure regulators...

Would fitting this likely cause me trouble in the future? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FACET-SYTEC-A ... 3f10b5ed33

The reason being, my F7P is running bike carbs and it is shocking on fuel, and I'm paranoid that my fuel pump is over-fuelling the carbs and its just spilling out the overflow as I'm driving.

It also has a REALLY BAD idle especially from cold, and a lad told me that might be because it hasn't got a fuel pressure regulator and the pumps over fuelling it.

It's an external 12v one although I'll have to dig up the specs tomorrow as the car is in storage atm.

I've read that on carbs I should be pushing around 2psi

Edit: Just went to my friends to check it out and all my locks are frozen solid  can't even get to my de-icer because it's inside the car :(

Most carbs run on 2-3psi
a lot of electric fuel pumps for carbs have an adjuster on them to control the pressure. If there are no markings on the pump then you will need to check howmuch pressure it is actualy making. A pressure regulator would be a good idea to keep the pressure stable.

Okay, recently fit a fuel pressure regulator and I set it up to 2.5psi (whether or not the FPR is calibrated correctly is another matter) and soon enough my fuel pump started making some interesting noises if I leave it running at idle - Do you think the FPR is straining my pump? I've had to open her up to max on the regulator to stop it from happening.

Got to be honest the fuel pressure regulator didn't do much for me - Maybe my Facet pump supplies just enough pressure as stock.
