Bjorn cracked his dizzy cap

Bjorn the vario wouldn't start the other night, it turned over but didn't fire. I didn't think much of it, as it started fine in the afternoon, so just put it down to my bad choke control.

However, on cleaning him today, we discovered this:

Happily, the old (and perfectly functioning) distributor cap was still in the box in which the fairly recent replacement came, clearly a budget brand from Wilco!

Nothing as brutal as that, but I know that some Ducelliers are quite particular with what rotor / cap combo they use. So assuming it was the right cap, was it the right rotor arm? Was it overtighten? Incorrectly located?

Seen similar. Base not flat and then when tightened the tension causes the plastic to crack

Man....that is brutal.
I have never seen one crack like that.
We'll call that one "The Great Divide" :wink:
