HELP! Throttle jammed!

Hey guys!

Started the 340 1.4 today and it revved up quite high. The choke had no effect and it seems like the either the throttle or the choke is jammed open...

I need to take off the air filter to have a look underneath but could someone please post a pic of the equivalent part on their 1.4 for me please?

It looks like the cable has come away from the mounting above the servo... It'll be useful to see what the cable usually looks like

pressing the accelerator a bit more made the revs rise but they failed to drop after lifting off... :(

This car was driving perfectly the other day.....

thanks in advance guys!! :) :)

You sure it's the cable mate? When Kar did this, the locknut on the accelerator pedal pivot had tightened itself up, so the pedal couldn't move back. I'm not near the thing to be able to get a photo I'm afraid

Also check that the cable hasn't looped over the full-throttle stop-bolt for the spindle - Nessy's likes to do that if you've been using the throttle at the carb end (hence taking up the slack).

cheers

It could also be the adjustable thingy (check out my technical knowledge) that controls the throttle to the carb... I think that's what's sticking on my car at the moment when it fails to return to idle properly. If I rev the car several times and lift off very quickly it will eventually return to idle, but it's not exactly convenient if you've just reversed into a road and can't get your auto box into D
