Does anyone know what size of allen key? (3/8 or 10 mm will not fit) that will loosen the oil sump plug. I've seen a special key in the Haynes manual, how would I get one - dealers won't supply.
Banzai,
Max.

its not an allen key on mine - its a square plug. i just use my socket set - the 'big' square drive part on it is just the right size. so probably 3/8", square type

Thanks for the info.
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you - eventually tracked down a 3/8 square drive at Halfords. Did the trick.
Cheers...

I have a 1/2" drive challenger imperial socket set which belonged to my grandfather....nothing like 'proper' pro quality tools (not that I have very many!).

In case anyone ever wants to borrow it, I have the special socket available to remove the oil pressure switch. It's not that rare, but a Britool (nice) 24mm DEEP socket with 1/2" drive....a fairly unusual combination!

cheers
