Possible temp sensor problem

Post by SoLaMaNdA » 20 Aug 2006 08:14 pm

My 360 has been running abit cooler than normal (but seems to warm up ok but to the cooler temp). I assumed it was the thermostat but replacing it had no effect. Could the gauge/sensor be faulty?

Thanks

Hi,

Yes the gauge could be failing and yes the sender could also be going south!

If the car is not actually running colder (feel hoses, rad etc. - try heater etc.) then suspect in the following order:-

1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8 & 9. Temp sender,
10, Voltage stabiliser (if VDO and fuel gauge also affected)
10 =, M.F.U. (if Smiths),
11, Temp gauge,
12, High resistance in wiring to sender,
13, Your car doesn't like Mondays !!.

Mac.
