Hi Massey,
Welcome to V3M and the joys of 340 ownership
A dare say that one of the more knowledgeable members of the forum will correct me here, but I believe there is no cheap and easy fix (unless you want to weld it, but I guess that's not too suitable). Check out the following thread:

- Affie - 1987 340 GL 1.7 - scrapped
- Sausage - 1990 340 1.4 - banger raced
- Rory - 1989 340
- broken
- Brian - 1991 940 SE 2.0 Turbo Estate - murdered
- Geraldine - Kia Venga
...except that the OP wants a rally car, not a race or drift car. I'd say not to weld the diff for a road rally car, you want control and the ability to put the power down, not pure sidewaysness - they'll go sideways fine on a muddy lane without it.
But that's just my opinion as a seasoned road rally competitor with a fair number of championship awards...

I would keep the stock diff for rally use tbh. With a 2 ltr lump on a good set up its hard to make the rears spin at all just me I know.

Not so sure about that - went quite sideways on the way to work this am on a hairpin and lack of LSD make these situations unpredictable. Welded diff is fine for the dorifto boys, but I don't think it's suitable for rally or every day use. We need a solution.classicswede wrote:I would keep the stock diff for rally use tbh. I was wondering whether One of these might be made to fit with a bit of persuasion - certainly quite cheap comparitively

Those should fit to 200-serie differentials, imo.Ronnie wrote:Not so sure about that - went quite sideways on the way to work this am on a hairpin and lack of LSD make these situations unpredictable. For very fast road use I am more than happy with std diff. When the power levels come up with my future plans then I will see (already over 120BHP)
From what I remember the dana will fit but the diff casing needs grinding to clear.
