Engines? What type?

Ok,

I have a 1.4 engine (the car is 1989) what engine code is this?

How difficult is it to change to a 1.7, and what can I keep in terms of box and prop, loom etc. I know of one locally so it may be worth popping that one in.

What about a 2.0ltr injection engine?

I don't want to go turbo, so the F7P is my main thought. I know these are quite rare, but the bits come off a 1.7 don't they?

Any advice is greatly recieved as the 300 series is a total mine field to me.

more like the 440 turbo is rare.

my f7p was like looking at cows in a field. i know people practically chucking them away at the moment.


the 1.7 would be an almost direct fit. would need the bell housing and the throttle cable and that would be about it really oh and renix! and crank sensor!

f7p simple swap if you have the right parts before hand....

First for 200 euro's (with complete car)
Second for free..

I would say: 200/250 pounds max (depending on history)
