right i bought one complete straight from a megane, has everything, is there any mods needed to fit it?
btw sorry i know there is alot of this engine modding on here atm lol

but am fitting it later this week and would prefer to have info ready so i can be back in 340 as soon as poss btw its a 97 model.

Megane engine wont bolt straight in. What year is it? If its a chain driven oil pump i'm not even sure the drive gear clears the 340 sump.

its a f7r williams engine its 1997. out of a megane coupe same engine as in a clio williams 2.0l 16v? is that not what you put in yours ? i was told this will bolt straight in from a few people... so... unless they are wrong then i dunno?

The F7R in the williams differs from the F7R's in meganes slightly. Phisically it will bolt in, but if you have th coil pack version there are a couple of things that can cause problems.

ok yea well the bolt in bit is good then what are the problems with the coil pack version?

its is coil packed :S and also apparantly the ecu has an immobiliser what can i do to get round it anything or get another ecu?

both, but that later engine wont just run in the earlier management, throttle body is different, as is flywheel trigger pattern, no hole for dizzy etc.

i spoke to one of my mechanics mates who does alot of tuning and engine conversion work and he said it should all fit and run fine have to do some extra wiring to get correct rpm and that the ecu may be able to work just have to wire packs and pump to different igniton live. so i guess i can try it when i come to do conversion and see how it goes

Crank mounted trigger wheel, ford EDIS module and megasquirt? Bit of graft but it'd be a real screamer.
