i have a question for you guys
is there any other cylinder head that will fit onto my 1.7 340 engine where the inlet manifold will be on the oposite side
as i would like to put twin carbs onto my car and can get a manifold made up but i dont want the the heat to effect the air goin in
or will the heat not effect it??
basically i want is so that my inlet manifold is on the passenger side and my exhaust manifold is on the driver side unless the heat is not an issue
im quite clueless with all this kind of stuff
so any help or wisdom would be much appreciated

Unfortunately I don't know if there are any crossflow heads that fit the 1.7 block, though someone else may. I say go for a manifold, you can get twin carb setups for other non-Xflow engines. As for the heat, the volvo 480 manages fine with a turbo inches away from the inlet so it may be fine, or you could heat wrap the exhaust.

The exhaust heat can be a positive thing if you work it right. The only head that is cross flow is the 16 but you realy want a complete engine to do it. If getting a manifold made you will need to make sure that it pefectly flat it you will have loads of air leak problems
