Depends how you do it.
Engine out is a relitively quick way to do it, if you have the equipment.
Otherwise drop the prop, take the rear bellhousingf mounts of let the engine sit freely on the front mounts, take the bellhousing off (although i found this slightly harder as its not as small as the 1.4 bellhousing.) remove it from the gap, whip the clutch out in with the new and installation is a reverse of removal.

Remember the "high clutch pedal" well it's still going strong.
But what price ARE we talking about to have a clutch fitted in a garage ? just in case.

Yeah, and I STILL cant get used to the low bite on mine.
Every other 300 ive had (or driven) has had a really high clutch. It doesnt seem to be any true indication of wear as far as I can tell.
To have it done at a garage I think it'd probably kill you. If £50 an hour is average labour cost, best factor for a half days work?
£200 ish? Depends on your garage i suppose.
Its 'engine out' for sure though. and not to be undertaken unless very very necessary.
Though i do prepare to be corrected.

Yeah, just make sure you have some kind of way of getting the engine lined back up to the mounts!

340s and 360 are two different kettles of volvo fish mate.
340s you can get away with dropping the prop. 360s are engine OUT.
different engines and ting.
Hope thats making sense.

Hold your horses people. Its much easier to remove bellhousing than it is to remove engine. I can do a clutch change in less than an hour on a 1.7!!! Trick is knowing that the bellhousing will only come out one way. Slide it back then drop the front as you rotate it and it will come out fine. Provided you support the back of the engine with a support or the back of the sump with a jack and a block of wood.
Dont just let the engine hang on the front mounts as it will F**K them!!
So disconnect battery and remove starter,
Remove prop, support engine and remove rear bellhousing mounts.
Undo clutch cable and remove bellhousing end.
Undo bellhousing bolts.
drop bellhousing back, then front down as you rotate.
Change clutch....
Reverse all of above.

I had to remove my exhaust down pipe to get the bellhousing out, which meant cutting the exhaust pipe and removing the carb and manifolds due to seized downpipe and other exhaust bits.
