Power steering

Post by classicswede » 06 Sep 2006 08:45 pm

I've got the chance of getting a complete power steering set up off a 360.
Is anyone interested?
If so please contact me and I will find out if I can get it and how much.

Yes please!!!! Im kinda new to this site so Hi all u volvo 300 ppls!!!
Anyway, 2 things which i guess i should clarify;
1- I live in Australia (hope your still with me >.<)
2- Australian 360's never came with PAS and therefore i need everything for the conversion apart from the rack which i have managed to get new miraculously from volvo for relatively and unbeleivably cheap price,

As far as i can tell from the VADIS parts catalogue i have recently aquired,
I know that i need;
- not necesarily the whole pump, but at least the pulley as i find that it is different, mite as well be the whole pump though
-the hoses (which volvo dont sell anymore)
-the brackets for the pump (i dont know if the air-con compressor bracket itself remains the same)
-the mounting brackets for the rack (if they are different to that of the non-PAS rack)
-is the steering column the same? if not then that too
-gee this lists getting long
-the 2 heat sheilds for the lower end of the steering column
-the electric fan that is mounted near the air-con compressor (which as far as i can tell from the drawing is thinner and has a different bracket)
-and anything you may think i've missed

I would pay for the complete PAS if its your intention to sell it as one lot, even though i dont need all the parts at least i know that sending the rack to australia would cost an absolute fortune
so yeah that all it think
Thanks Mate!! hope you can consider,
And hope to spend many happy hours on this site and no doubt with my 360 :)

Hello!
I've just bough for my wife a brand new 360 GL with non-power steering, and she's a bit upset by the weight of the steering.
Is your power steering set still for sale?
(I would pay the posting costs, naturally...)

unfortunatly the bits have all gone.

There are a few things that can be done to make the steering lighter.

1) is fit bearing strut top mounts
2) fitting 195/50/15 wheels and tyres also seems to make the steering lighter.

I may have another car coming in with power steering so watch this space.
