rollcage group buy anyone???

Post by kds19 » 06 May 2009 06:29 pm

a guy on driftworks sent me this anyone else interested????

hi mate, here r prices.
i have basically worked out supplied and fitted prices for 1,2 or 5 cages.
if u go on v3m and just say u have been in contact with nickson motorsport ltd and i have provided the following prices then see what interest is out there.
for the prices to stand the cages will need to be identical in there manufacture. for example if there are differences in the shape etc of any of the variations of the 340/360 then the price will change. these prices r for 1,2,5 of exactly the same cage. (maybe u could find out if there r differences in the diferent models)
once u post the thread i will show my face on there to clear any issues up.

cage will consist of hoop, rear legs, single diagonal.
also will include footplates to weld to floor and footplates to bolt under the car, all fittings, and painted in black.

1 cage supplied £450
2 cage supplied £375
5 cage supplied £350

if u require all the footplates that the cage mounts to welded in and the cage fitted to the car the price is +£90.

there is no vat to pay at the minute
shipping would be extra but i can find out the shipping costs later of people r interested.
let me know what u think.
the cages will be built to bdc/edc msa/fia regs

Dear if it's just a rear cage but not bad for a full one depending on spec and quality of weld.

nicksons, becoming well known on driftyworks for his cages, quite a few of the competitors are happy!

S13 a recent one

the owner painted that one AFAIK.

I am intrested in one at £350, problem is certification.

Custom cages can do one for under £500 that you can get welded after everything gets certifed so you can compete in FIA/MSA races.

I intend to be rallying my 340. so it needs to be strong and i'll be wanting some extra fittings. door bars strut tops etc.

Thats the same as the SD half cage.

Kaos has hit the nail on the head, if a scruit doesn't like your cage they'd prefer you ran without one, or for required series' they'll not logbook the car. If this can be sorted, bonza. I'd suggest those interested do muchos reading of the bluebook

If you can get the half's down to 350 I reckon you'll be getting a good deal, the SD ones weren't cheap when Jason rang up for one. I'd imagine you'll want to chase drifters for them, they seem to have pennies (;)) and half cages would be perfect for that.

hi im director of nickson motorsport ltd.
cages would be half cages consisting of hoop, legs and diagonal, includes all fittings, painted in black, footplates to weld to the floor and footplates for under the car all included.
to find custom built cages for anythin like like that price anywhere else u would struggle. off the shelf cages are mass produced and u will never get the same fit and finish as a custom built cage, trust me i have fitted enough ready made ones lol.
cage will be built to msa blue book regs so will be fine to run in motorsport.
u dont need certification for cages, only if u deviate from the blue book build regs.
i have worked for gartrac for 6 years and have now fully caged 4 cars running in bdc/jdm allstars etc. aswell as banzai cover car rb26 s13 200sx, 2 s14, have s13 coming over from ireland this week, etc etc.
i can add as many bars are people require, i provide a full custom cage building service to any spec. i can also do fully homolgated cages for any series at cost of +£1200.
if u check out driftworks you will see nickson motorsport is a well known and respected company with all my customers over the moon with the quality of work. hence why i now have customers bringin cars over from ireland for work to be carried out.
thanks :D

It's almost like you've done this before  There have been a couple of offers on cages before, but by people who didn't have a clue about what the blue book was...

If I didn't have a full cage in my car already I'd be on this, but good luck with it. Theres been enough people saying they've wanted them from time to time, now it's just to whether people can stump up the case when it's offered!

Ah ye old blue book.

I had one episode, Mate of mine was doing a road rally, and in the feet they only had 2 bolts per leg, where they're supposed to be 3. The scruit said sorry this has failed scruitineering. My mate turned around and said, fuck that I hired this car for lots, I'll go get an angle grinder and chop the f*&cker out now! The scruit said ok leave it in then.

They're mad.

Kaos, are you doing road rallying or stage events?

Also, Nickson, how much would the following cost?

Full bolt in roll cage for E30 318is x diagonal, x door bars, seat belt bar and going to the strut turrets?

Cheers me dears.
