it makes me drysteer more and means i cant feel the road as well. i can percieve no benefits from it at all.

I agree to an extent.. but I must admit it is nice when parking. It can definitely make you dry steer more though - I have done it a couple of times.. but try not to, don't want to wear anything out prematurely!

you just don't realise your doing it. i'm built plenty big enough to handle my cars at any speeds, sure its harder work but it makes the driving experiance more involving, and a car with pas will be slower than one without

Thats true.. none of my cars before the 360 had power steering.. and felt fine, it's only when I got back into the Skoda and manouvred it out of the drive it seemed heavy, but it never did before. It's only really when doing slow speed manouvres you benefit from power steering - anything over 5mph in any car without PAS is fine. Certainly don't really need it unless you're granny going to the supermarket.

Don't get me wrong.. I like power steering, but I can see why Hugh doesn't.
