Not brilliant, but could be a LOT worse...

Whatever is left of the 360s will be getting crushed, so help yourself. We'll arrange a time to go take a look if you like. I need to hurry up with getting at least one of them out of Ozzy's way...

cheers

Wouldn't it be funny if that car was the same one which sold on eBay a couple of years ago? It's the same spec...1981 345 GL with a front spoiler in light metallic blue...

cheers

+1 to that summary. I guess you also need to think about to what standard you want the work done to. If it was me, I'd just try and get it MOT'd so you can use the car for a bit, find out what other weak points there may be, and then decide how far you want to go.

I had some similar issues with my Mk1:

sills:

inner rear wheel arches:

although the valance on my car was good, as were the inner wings and the inner sills. You might want to take the front wings off the car, and see what's underneath that ...

Shame about the nose cone, from far away I thought it was a bit better than it looks close-up, but IIRC Jay has a replacement silver one - not perfect but definitely useable.

Is the tow bar an original Volvo one? If so, don't bin it straight away, someone might have a use for it ...

Look forward to see how this car gets on!

Cheers

The nose cone's not as bad as it looks, it's been poorly resprayed and the paint's reacted badly. No actual holes or really bad rust on it and bottom edge under the grill is ok. I'm hoping that the cills are ok as they have been replaced. The really bad bit just behind the front wheels (part of the wing) may be hiding horrors beneath! It would certainly take a lot of work to bring the car up to a high standard of finish so I've got to decide on total restoration or just getting it roadworthy. I've no idea of the cost of total restoration, I suppose it depends on how much can be done yourself and how much professional work has to be done. (I would rather go for tramp look than bodged attempt at perfection!!! ) I would say it needs a total respray to look half decent. I'm under no illusion of how bad the rust is...don't forget I've seen under the car with a torch  It's not for the feint hearted down there :o :o

I'm not sure how to tell, I won't chuck it away, I'm well known round here for saving stuff like that :D Anyway, they always come in useful on the car!!

Those pics of the wings are useful, I did a similar thing with my now stolen MK1 but while on the car. No welding, just screws rivets, lots of fiberglass and filler  I had to rebuild the whole wheel arch profile inside and out, it was a work of art!
