Silly me, I thought it was illegal to fit a 2.0 engine but still keep it registered as a 1.4 to keep the insurance down. I think 'down' translates as 'void' so here's hoping its not me or mine he drifts into with his blowing exhaust and worn rear tyres. Joker...

I see he's re-worded the ad now so as not to include the 'still registered as a 1.4 so cheap insurance' line. Quite worrying though that people are still prepared to withold information from their insurers and risk having no cover in the event of being stopped or involved in an accident...

so how has he got the volvo engine in a 340 for a start
has he swoped the gearbox and run a torque tube

Yeah, he'll have swapped the lot over. That's what I did with my 343. That's still registered as a 1.4, but I've not bought tax for it since doing the swap, and my insurers know about it. I'll be sorting out the paperwork soon.
