For sale is my 1989 Volvo 340 DL, When I bought this car around 3 years ago it had 1 owner from new and a full Volvo service history (I still have this), the car still has less than 52,000 miles from new, so it is a really good solid shell.

Spec:
Engine:
Mk1 Clio 1.8 16v F7P Engine- Good solid runner (~140bhp)-Included in the sale is a Clio "cup" chip that I have never got round to fitting (Apparently more Torque and Rpm's)
Reversed inlet manifold with custom air filter set-up.
Full, Custom manifold back stainless steel exhaust.
Custom Loom, Custom Fuel Pump, Injection Fuel lines etc.

Suspension:
The front is on 220Lb springs that are 2" lower than standard, along with Gaz top adjustable shocks. The rear has been lowered by 1.5" also with adjustable Gaz shocks (Shocks have only covered ~200 miles since rebuild and service from Gaz). . It has polyurethane Engine mounts and the whole front and is polybushed (makes a huge difference) the car will be sold with the ATS Cups in the photos (15x7.5J) with 4 good tyres. It has polyurethane Engine mounts and the whole front and is polybushed (makes a huge difference)

Interior:
The back of the car is stripped-out; however most of the front is intact with door-cards carpet etc. It has 2 x Sparco sprint seats, 2x sparco 4 point harnesses and an OMP Corsica deep dish steering wheel.
Good points:
Recent new parts include: Spark plugs, Distributor, HT Leads, Oil and filter, Fuel pressure regulator.
It’s a really good fun car to drive and still puts a smile on my face after 3 years of owning it, I originally was going to build it as a drift car but it is so much fun with an open diff. The handling is pretty impressive but you can still stick the tail out if needed ;). I’m selling as I am now using it as a daily driver and just don’t get chance to enjoy it properly anymore , it is good as a daily (I average ~35MPG on long runs) as it is very quiet with “normal” driving (2 silencers in exhaust) however there is plenty of induction noise on Wide Open Throttle. The car has 9 months MOT (No advisories on last MOT) and is taxed till September. Have lots of spares including: Gearbox, diff, lights and many wheels and tyres, any of these can be included in the sale if needed.
Bad Points:
There is a patch of rust under the front windscreen, not very big but has been there since I have owned the car but seems to be pretty much the only bit on the car. The Speedo has recently stopped working, probably an easy fix I just don’t have the time anymore.
I am based in Oxford but I am in Leicestershire every other of weekend. I’m looking for £2000 for the car (£3500 spent along with a lot of work) Please feel free to ask any questions, Email: ben.linday@gmail.com or Call/text 07794358420, Ben.

Just some questions if you don't mind :D

Is this still down as a 1.4 on the logbook? and if so, how does it stand up legally to insure it? how have you got it insured currently?

Many thanks.

Matt.

Matty, as long as you tell your insurer about the engine change, it's fine. The thing you've got to worry about is paying higher tax. I believe Adam got around this by just going to the post office and saying "yeah, I know it says 1.4 but it's not, please charge me for more tax".

Yeah it'd down as a 1.4 on the V5, I did tell the DVLA a couple of years ago but after about 6 months I gave up lol (thread with me moaning about it here: http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... =2&t=10146) , but insured through Adrian Flux with all mods (and engine) on there. Currently costs me £500 a year so not too bad really.

Oh right I see! seems the DVLA really weren't helpful! Thanks for the information :D
