I am pleased to inform you all that the car went for far higher than expected.
I didn't buy it, too much for me.
But I've been told that it has gone to somebody most us know in IP68..

Just seen what my houseguest has been up to -

We in the UK have our April the first on - well April the first - it seems the Belgians have theirs on April the fifth - in the afternoon.

True RJ and I attended the auction, and bid, but to be truthful we dropped out when it went over £3000 - the hammer finally fell at £5000! We were unable to ascertain the buyer (but we think trader).

In general the car was verrrry good - but not perfect. The wing damage was more extensive than it looked, the tailgate struts had "gone", the chrome trim around the rear windows was corroded under the plastic - and there was no V5 (sent to DVLA - so was at least a two owner car).

Jokes aside either of us would have gone to perhaps £3500 but no more for a car destined for mothballs - if whoever has bought it uses it they will soon destroy the very thing that made it special - with a few hundred more miles on it, it becomes just another nice low mileage 300 worth £800 - £1000. It's the no miles and no use that makes it unique.

I suspect (and fear) that it will soon appear on a "forecourt" for around £8K and "do the rounds" as we have seen others do!

The only good news is that all our have taken a hike in value today.

5k is interesting certainly, I hope that the new owner isn't a private collector who hides it away.
