Does the timing chain need to be renewed?

The timing chain will last forever, or at least the one on my 1.4 (see below) was still going at 230k miles....

That looks like a very good example of a 340, if you are going to view it check for rust on the sills, arches, front valence rear valence, inner arches, spring cups etc.

Looked to be sold on the website yesterday arvers so I am thinking johnjb was the buyer but maybe wrong.
