I'm thinking of selling my 340. Most regular readers will be familiar with it and have seen pictures. I'm picking up a DAF 46 later this week that I hope to take on some classic rallies and I don't really have the space, time or money for this many cars (especially as you need residents' permits round here). I'd just like to gauge interest at the moment, if there aren't any sensible offers from here I'll probably end up putting it on eBay.
I've got to the stage where I don't know if it's worth completing the jobs I had in mind - a carb will be about £200 (if I can't find one 2nd hand) and painting the new panels another £150. To make this worthwhile I'd want the car to make about £500 on eBay and I think this is very unlikely. With the wing sorted I'd want about £350, otherwise I'll take £200 and you could sort this out yourself. I'm in the process of cleaning up the wheels (scrub, kurust, primer, paint and lacquer).
This car has a great history of one owner from new until I bought it last December (although 2 on the V5C as registered to husband then wife, but always wife's car). It's also very tidy with only a very few minor surface rust spots. If you treated these now, you'd have a pretty much perfect car quite easily. Everything works, even the heated seat, rear demister and hatchback props. MOT until December.
