I have someone who'll take it. He's an enthusiast too. Let me know if that's of interest. It'd need delivering to west of Birmingham.

I'd actually say repair it, but if the funds aren't there... All 300s are going to need rust work at some point - the paint is bad and the design is worse. I guess you need to find a car worth saving, then pay the money to get the work done. £400 isn't much to give a car (at the very least) 3 years of life. Consider the depriciation on something more modern over that time-frame.

The anti-roll bar will be a fairly easy home fix if you can be bothered. If not....my mate is interested.

cheers

Theres also a 360 (not sure what model) 11 miles from me in Birmingham.

EDIT: it sounds good and low mileage... and I'd forgot I can't post details.. oops

Could be an easy swap...

Thats true redline.. were not actually getting anything from it, and hopefully it can help someone else at the same time.

It's up at only 200 quid - I'd go for a look myself, but I already have two cars!

That`s sad Hugh

Not worth getting hold of a cheap MIG and having a go at the welding yourself?

The basics are not rocket science and a bit (well quite a bit actually!) of practice welding up bits of steel offcut should see you able to do most simple repairs, such as plating holes and fabricating simple repair sections.

A worthwhile skill for anybody interested in keeping older cars on a budget

Will

i'm considering trying to learn to weld..

took her to a different place today - failed on different stuff - brake/fog light (was fine on other test), sills corrosion both sides (~£150 to do?), front anti roll bar drop links, are both worn/exessive play, one tyre below limits (Cheap fix?? swap for spare) and the emissions failed (but passed last time).

so overall, if you did the work yourself, it'd be the bill for the drop links, welding and a new mot. i have something different lined up... she's been around on here before, and she's got an mot, and she should give me less trouble

btw, to anyone with a 1.4 who'se not driven a glt - dont try it. you'll never wanna go back :P

hmm interesting... whats this you have lined up? or is it it a secret at the moment? I guess it's going to be a GLT considering your last sentence?

Haha...you said the last one was really tidy :-P May I suggest an inspection of the underside this time?

I'd still fix Grace, but up to you...
