Hi,

Is anyone interested in a Volvo 360 GLT

'87 (D) 2.0i
3dr
Blue
100,000
MOT May '05
Tax Feb '05
All Original (Alloys etc)
Immaculate upholstery
Tyres with lots of life left in them
100% reliable
Manchester, England

All for £70

Known problems:
speedo doesnt work (Ive got a new cable from the scrappies and fiited it, but obvoiusly not properly)
wheel arch rust
exhaust mouting bracket has nearly rusted off
indicators tempremental (loose connection to flasher unit under steering column), I could fix this but there seems no point.
Heated rear winscreen button doesnt work.
One of the rear reversing light glasses is missing

This car will be scrapped if no-one wants it. I want this car to be kept on the road and there must be some-one who realises how good these cars are and has space for it.

Hi, you've found the right place to advertise it, as in an advert anywhere else people over look the 300 series Volvo's. Being a 3 door version of the 360 GLT is should be of interest to someone. I'm afraid I've too many already to even consider it! Good luck, as I would also like to see the car kept on the road, it'd be a shame to scrap it. Pete

If that was here a couple of months ago and I hadn't just bought a GLT that would be mine! :)

Someone here is sure to want it, the 3 door cars are getting rare and also if its that nice dark metallic blue... its a damn nice colour. Good luck, I doubt you will have any trouble selling it here, that is a very reasonable price :)

If that wasnt so far away i'd be severly tempted.

Dont fancy a little drive down south, do you Ed? :)

if you get real despirate i may take it, however its a long way north, and i'd really rather pay a bit more and get a nicer example. how bad is the rust? pics?

Im afraid pics arent possible unless I can lay my hands on a digital camera at work - ill see what I can do
Rust is beginning to take hold:
I had one of the rear arches done to get it through its last MOT.
I recently replaced the front nearside mcpherson strut when the assembly that holds the spring in place rotted away (I think this is a design fault as other cars have a hole drilled in them to stop water collecting) - anyway when doing this i noticed that the front wheel arches are bad on the inside (there is only a bit of bubbling visible on the exterior and so i thought it was alright).
The front valance is very bad.
There is a bit of rust around the boot sill.

SteveP, Im afraid its the light metalic blue - i dont think ive seen a dark blue 300. And as for being rare I have had the car for 2 1/2 years and have only seen one other 3dr 360 on the road (a GLE in Glasgow i think but definately not a GLT). I know they exist because there are a few in the scrap yards - all v. high milers.

There seems to be a lot of call for me to go down south - this may be possible over christmas (Id be going as far as Sudbury, Suffolk) - although I would rather not because i would have to get the train back up to manchester rather than drive my newly purchased M-reg 480 GT (I dont know if thats heresy in a 300 forum).

By the way the £70 includes half a tank of petrol.
(£40 Tax + £10 scrappies + £20 petrol = £70)

Further info:
I have had two 2nd hand electric window motors put in.
The sills have been replaced by a previous owner (at a cost of £500) so its not totally original, the welding is visible though I was always tempted to grind it down.
I was having trouble with the car overheating on the m-way, so I replaced the radiator that had almost disintegrated.
The drivers side door handle broke and has been replaced

South Central Manchester (Chorlton) close to the m60 juction just after the trafford centre. Slight problem im in Edinburgh this weekend, from after work on friday to sunday evening.
It would do well as a run around if you dont mind the noise of the rattling exhaust, lack of speedo and shabby exterior. This car has only failed to start once since i have had it and replacement distributer cap and leads solved the problem.

Its central locking, electric windows, GLT steering wheel (central horn), alloys, front fog lights on valance.
