Based in York.. worthy of a few handy spares I imagine, electric mirrors for starters! It looks like its been written off for a broken bumper bracket and number plate panel damage?! Very nice otherwise

I thought the same at first Hugh, but as Steve says, may have been a higher category. I don't think that car should be there, it looks so clean, tidy, low mileage, well looked after, I think a new bumper, or it could be possible to straighten the metal frame underneath, providing the plastic is not cracked, and you'd have a nice car. That's as long as it hasn't been robbed of bits yet. BTW High spec '89 model too, with the electric mirrors.

So that means the chassis can't be damaged as it would be listed as a cat b :P

no. a frame can be damaged, but the car still in class c. class b is just when the frame is damaged so much that it should not be repaired. ie a rollover, or a very high speed stack.

Could it just be the cost of the new parts that puts it in that category?

I mean if you had to buy a few original Volvo panels and have them fitted and painted by original Volvo bodyshop people it's gonna be a few quid..

I think that rear end damage is probably a lot worse than it looks - remove the bumper and I bet that thing is a mess. The number plate panel wouldn't end up at that angle easily.

cheers
