Clearout time! (Updated 02/04/10)

Post by filthyjohn » 27 Feb 2010 05:07 pm

Ok folks,
I've got the chance to buy a mate's C20XE A series Manta, so I'm shifting most of my rare Volvo bits, as well as all sorts of other stuff. I can of course bring any of this stuff to the York meet in 2 weeks time. I'll put my Volvo stuff in this thread and start another for my miscellaneous tat.

6 dial dash, perfect working order, with temp sender and special hollow bolt for fitting to 360s. SOLD

Mk3 Snowcap (OMG RARE) perfect condition SOLD

Centre console gauge panel with genuine volvo oil temperature gauge SOLD

Full leather interior to suit any hatch 300. Near mint, but a few small rough bits. Pictures to follow. £150ono, can probably send by courier if you aren't coming to the meet.

400 series Canis wheels, set of 4. One has a hefty dent on the inside edge, which may not balance out but a good refurb place should be able to sort it. All 4 tyres are legal and hold air. £40
They look awesome on a 300:

Mk3 rear spoiler £20+P&P

Kent 1601 'sports injection' cams and piper vernier pulleys to suit F7P or F7R. SOLD

Set of smiths clocks, ideal for F7P conversion as they read to 8k rpm. They go straight into a later car, only the fuel gauge reads lower than it really is so you have to get used to being able to drive 100 miles on the fuel light. A smiths sender would fix that problem. I'll include the cable, which is slightly damaged but still working, if I can find it in time! £20+P&P
Image

Welded diff, 3.64:1. This was migged by professional welder 'xtrmjks' who used to post on here. As such the whole thing is a lump of weld, I can't see it ever failing. £75ono

Mk2 bonnet. This was a scrapyard find but is almost rust free (a tiny bubbling on front edge and some surface rust near the front on the underside) so I couldn't pass it up. The only issue is that the paint is damaged in the middle, probably by brake fluid from the corsa that was parked on top of the car it came from. Given the rarity and the lack of rust I'd say it's well worth £50. Please ignore the mud in the pictures, it's been stood on but isn't dented.

Hella grilles SOLD

That's about it for Volvo stuff, but I have some other parts tucked away that I may have forgotten about, so ask if there's something you're hankering after.

Thanks for looking,
John.

Tempted by the 6-dial dash... I already have one in the 340, but strangely the 360GLT came with very little extra equipment. Also since the temp sender is included, I could finally measure it and fabricate another (or more, if somebody wants them) sender for the 340.

So dibs, unless someone closer to you wants it (a mph speedo really doesn't make much sense here ;) )

Yeah it's no problem at all. That's what I had to do back when I had to change the speedo in my 340 because the odometer was stuck at 70626 km. I even disassembled the "new" speedo enough to adjust the km reading closer to what it was supposed to be. Frankly I can't really remember anymore how many times I've had the instrument cluster out by now. :P

If you can hold the diff till next month when i have more monies you've got yourself a sale.

Also if you do have some 3dr door cards consider them sold to me aswell, every little helps as some nasty supermarket chain would have us believe.

Added a murky pic mate, turns out all the mounting tabs are perfect. You know you want it! :D

Consider it yours if you want it, shouldn't cost much to post.

I can do mate, postage is likely to sting a bit but 'parcel2go' probably won't want more than £15. Unless someone coming to the York meet lives near you? Oh and I raked about everywhere for door cards and it seems I have none. Quite puzzled by that, sorry!

The wiring is already there, so it's just a matter of removing your clocks and installing the 6-dial ones. The wiring for the temp gauge is a little more complicated, but I could give you a step-by-step explanation. Nomead has first dibs though.

The console panel itself is very easy, but the gauges are a little more complicated. The volvo gauge needs a matching sender, which I don't have, though there's probably an alternative sender you could use. It'd probably be better to buy some aftermarket gauges from ebay or wherever. They would come with instructions, and any 52mm gauge will fit.
Hope this helps.
