Can I ask why every car in NI or Southern Ireland is absolutely rediculously priced? Not moaning mind if I'm selling to Ireland, but wont it just make everything unaffordable, like AE86??

They're expensive in the Republic because even though the country's broke, some folk have still got too much money stashed under the matress

I wouldn't buy a car here if I could help it (and so far I haven't). They're a bloody rip-off and for the stuff I'd be looking for come from the UK with a digit knocked-off the end of the price. Can't speak for the North though, I'd leave that to Jim to explain...

I noticed that when he put it in the thread and i was genuinely interested thinking "it's cheap" to be like £3-500 or so, but sod that price as nice as the car looks it really not worth whats being asked.

I predict it'll be for sale for a fair while, or some fat walleted fool will step up to the plate.

My take is that lots of people in NI got rich from the property investor influx since the 1995 ceasefire, although wages have mostly not risen in sympathy, so it just a temporary feeling of being flush.

People here can also be quite inward looking, very few businesses have Internet sales, they feel they are isolated and have a captive market. Even before the internet I had vendors telling me they could not buy the items from NI distributors, for the money I was getting with mail order mainland firms. Of course the result is they mostly have shut up shop.
