This low mileage red 340GL 1.7 has one previous owner and 2965.9 miles on the clock. Lovingly cared for the the owner who recently passed away.
The neice of the owner is over from Australia dealing with the estate of the owner and can be contacted on 01292 477632. The car is in Ayrshire, and the name of the lady to contact is Mrs Alice Duncanson.
3000 miles on the clock!! wtf?!

volvo 340
Hello ,
I live in Scotland and have a 1.4 which is prooving the bargain of the year (ebay £150)......
This car sounds great and I spoke to the lady from Aus who is really nice.. what kind of figure would you think is reasonable for a car of this age or is it a case of whatever you think due to the condition and mileage?
ian

its very hard to say. logic would state it is worth £2k at least - yet i've not seen a 300 recently sell for more then £250. i'd say £500 is a good figure, if the milage is genuine..
however, it may have a lot of wear *Because* the milage is so low - it must have been sat for months on end to get away with that kinda milage - i can only imagine that isnt good for an engine

At this age, mileage has far less influence on the ownership experience than you'd think. I certainly don't think you specifically want to seek out a low mileage example. If it is in excellent condition and has been well maintained, then the mileage can only really be a bonus...but I certainly wouldn't but a scrappy car for its low mileage, as the body will wear out before the oily bits anyway, and my car with 130k (and plenty of interior abuse) still has a very tidy interior (albeit with some seat stitching coming loose)!

That`s true but if you budget for these you are getting virtually "new" car for peanuts.
Mine had only 26K on it when I got it so it got newish tyres (from my previous 340), new drive belts, plugs, fluids etc etc. Apart from the usual 340 gripes I can`t fault its drivability ability to cope as a daily driver.
You will notice a big difference in the ride, steering, firmness of seats etc compared with a high miler.
