Total NEWBIE from Gravesend in Kent

Post by wackojacko » 26 Sep 2011 09:02 am

Hello there,
My names Stephen Jackson.

I work in transport as an assistant training to be manager,
Know a few people from the drift scene but not alot, Lee Reed and Michael Marshall.

Would Love to get into the drifting scene just depends on money and time etc.

Freind has a volvo for sale and im thinking about letting him have my corsa diesel with a couple hundred quid my way,
would like to know your views, i will be using it as a daily driver as i just like the appeareance it gives as theyre quite rare, i would in the future possibly want a jz engine or sr engine or something along those lines, would be happy with 200 bhp
heres a pic of what i might get:

40 k with service history
fk buckets
trick volt gauge in steering wheel
13x10 minilites on read
13x7 minilites on front
trs tow strap
fuel pump pressure reg
oil cooler
mk1 golf splitter
1.7 renault engine but not the williams lump as far as i know

i want 200bhp reliable brake is that possible if so how

would appreciate your views and opinions

Heres a few of my previous cars:

1: Ford Fiesta si mk3
First car so nothing amazing.

2: BMW E46 318Ci
Lovely looks coated in leather just power from a 318 is rather minimal being 4 cylinder and being very heavy. Had the arse end out a couple of times down "Ferry Lane" but couldn't Keep throwing £3.5k around as it was my daily

3. Citroen Saxo VTS MK2
Very quick put it all over the bmw being 120 bhp and weighing as much as a fart. a few mods

4. Currently
Vauxhal Corsa C sxi CDTI 1.3
Cost me 4.5k to get me hgv2 and artic licence as thats what i wanted to become before i got this job so brought something cheap to run while i pay off me debts.

Heres a few pictures and a couple of pictures of me and Lee reed as we done a drift demo up at North Weald 8 Ball Diner not too long ago.

Sorry for the life story but better to do a decent thread:)

That 300 is bang tidy. Swear that garage unit behind is in some pics of a previous 5 door Volvo with a valver engine. I'd go for it mate, it seems really tidy, and being a 1.7, has a load of bits needed already for a valver swap if that's the way you want to go.

300's are brilliant cars, mine has adjustable shocks etc, and is now set up pretty well. Helps having a nearest makes no difference 50:50 weight distribution 'cause the gearbox is at the back. It actually grips really well in the dry, and in the wet with a welded diff steps out easy, but is extremely easy to control. (that's with the F7R conversion).

I've seen 1.4s drift easy too in the wet, and all the help you need with maintaining them is on here as well.

Welcome to the forum buddy. :D
