340 1.7 Turbo Project by 340cbr

Post by 340cbr » 23 Feb 2007 08:00 pm

Well here are some photos of my Turbo conversion.

I don't have much time to work in it but it is almost complete. Maybe one more week...

Photos:

General aspect, everything still disarranged mainly the electric part and it lacks some air pipes on both the sides of the engine

Image

The Turbo and the exhaust

Image

Intercooler, already with pipes that later will go to the admission of the engine, lacks the one that comes of the turbo that will be similar :

Image

Front view… The air inlet to the intercooler is small. Later or we get a wider intercooler or willl do a restyling on the bumper

Image

This pipewill be cuted it was there for testing the size.

ECU's in the interior

The pipes are all diferents (only some water ones are the same), and the inlet manifold needs to be modified as you can see in the picture.

The hardest bit... Maybe the electronic part, because the other things are not difficult, they just take some time and effort (and... money) while the electronic takes knowledge to!

Nom, brilliant bit of work! Good to see it's been done properly.

Now for the negative

Awww I wanted to do this swap but the inlet manifold mod will be a peg, was gonna give it a crack on my own. How hard was it to rearrange that?
