B17 MPGs?

Anyone ran a stock B17 for a period of time?

What kind of MPGS do they return ish? in general?

I seem to remember when working correctly they can get up to 35mpg. But remember, that's with the carb adjusted properly. Which it won't be. Because it sucks.

Been running the 1.7 340 for last 2 years. Worst 24.42mpg short cold engine trips (2 or 4 miles). Best 38.75mpg (long run up the A1/A66 to the lakes, return at 55mph). No engine problems whatsoever. Towing a caravan around 20 to 26mpg.

My 5 door one I had was getting 40 on a run, my dad was shocked

It truely depends how well you keep it serviced mate. They *need* regular servicing, but I did 50-60,000 on Fake on the old engine. Round town they arn't pretty but on a run they are good. Volvo quoted over 50MPG in the adverts, Autocar when reviewed it they said between 28 and 33, I certainly mid twenties round town and low forties on a run so sounds sensible to me.
