Shame, it did look quite nice R5, those are rare and expensive here.

Good thing it was not 2CV, I have seen what happens to such when trailer of a lorry goes sideways and mangles over it, not a pretty sight, but at least occupants had no time to feel the impact before grind to pieces

It was a good little car, no rust whatsoever, few bits of paint faded/scratched - it was written off just as I'd ordered new driveshafts, carb rebuild kit n so on Wouldn't have another, too flimsy. The top speed was quoted at 87mph and it did precisely 87mph.... I swear: If you drove it gently the fuel actually REPLENISHED as you drove.
Claim is almost complete, just medical stuff to send off and... £10,000~ to me There's only one continuing disablement from the crash, I cannot empty a shopping trolley - the bend, twist, lift-repeat operation is crucifying... But I hate shopping

I think it was tow hook thing of the towing truck that was not secured properly?

I would have thought just and ordinary car hook left in the front of a car would have done that, someone pulling out of a junction into as as you drove past?

I saw a car today with one still in, thought of this incident.

It would be even worse with a truck towing hook, some bin lorries round here leave them in all the time, massive hooks that stick out nearly a foot, painted yellow. I assume they often get stuck on the tip and need towing out. I heard one of the bin men talking about them to someone once, apparently it's legal despite the serious danger to pedestrians!

Must have been a really bad jolt as the car was ripped apart, the rest of the front of the car that hit you was soft and springy....except that part. That kind of payout won't go down well with thier insurance company for would should have been a scrape. The excess should be higher for left in tow eyes!

Regarding the wagons, all they need for.it to be legal, is no sharp edges afaik.
