Maybe I should stop moaning about UK price then  Highest price I've seen around here is £1.44.

What we loose on poor efficiency, we gain in cheap parts (it's just finding some of them!) and easy D.I.Y. fixing.

On some parts true, but what needed often are not so much less in price than for some econoboxes.

One good part is that 300 serie cars consume less parts than many other brand.

Also fuel efficiency can be improved easily, making bottom of car covered serves also as protection :D

Prices are helping me.

Soon I'll be getting paid for taking 4.7 Grand Cherry's off people.

They be down to 700 for 2000my Limited. That be a lot of barge for little money.

I bet that in 2012 we will see 2 euros a litre.

That really does not matter, only roads will be lot less crowded and those who are driving are probably bit better drivers than what we can see today.

Filled up for 82 Euros yesterday at a motorway filling station, that's a personal record in a 300. The first time I've gone for that nasty E10 biodegradeable stuff too :-(

AFAIK Holland is the most expensive country in Europe for petrol, the UK for diesel.

Apparently Norway trumps the UK for DERV title.

AA Ireland (Euro cent comparion) http://www.aaireland.ie/AA/Motoring-adv ... rices.aspx
AA UK (Pence Sterling comparison) http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/fuel/ (pdf linkies on that page)
AA (UK) wrote:"The UK has the eleventh highest unleaded price in Europe and the second highest diesel price."
So moaning about the petrol price isn't really going to wash with me. Just the diesel price.

Tom probably had no other option than just use that E10?

Even Greenpeace is against using it at Germany, I thought they would stop selling it there already?

Here they are going to increase price of diesel and 98E5 because people is not destroying enough nature already with E10.

So great, my car uses diesel and I get punished from not buying E10, I have no vehicle which to put it, even lawnmover requires higher octane fuel

At this pace we are going to catch UK pretty soon.

yeah that E10 stuff is nasty, and i very much doubt it doesn't cause any longterm harm to the alloy cylinderheads/carbs/intake manifolds etc as the castaluminium of our 300's back in those days was from quite a different quality as it is nowadays.

At least my carb is having symptoms with 98E5 already, can't get any better when increasing amount of poison. Metal flakes in fuel and float chamber walls have gotten damage.

Add to that all other bad they have not told, what for example that Greenpeace has found out and it is very questionable stuff to keep on sale.

At least here in the Uk E10 will be restricted to 95oct fuel only, those of us (pretty much all to be honest!!) who can't run E10 will at least be able to use 98RON fuel which will be limited to 5% max ethanol by law. The downside of course is that 98RON costs a lot more.
