^That IS the boot man. Its a flat bottomed V shape. So down to the above bumper panel, beneath the plate.Nimminz wrote:Looking good mate, wind deflectors look good, a must really, once you've had them before IMO
For a little cheap mod, you seen the later (940? early s40?) clear style wing indicators? would look good on yours! maybe spray the metal round the rear number plate, under the boot black so it blend in with the lights. Maybe a bit of that fly-eye film over the back lights too? Linseed oil on the plastics looks like it will make a difference.
Good shout though.
Not really bothered about wing repeater colour like.
Really want to get rid on the chrome grille. (theres no other chrome on the car!!!)
Anyone know if theres a black version on any 800 model?
^Its only a 2.0 with no blower man, so insurance is cheaper than the Dturbo I was running.Evoman wrote:Looks great, im jellin! Haha! whats it like on insurance and feul?
Paid up front its £600 fully comp with Admiral on the 10 month No Claims booster policy. (1 Years no claims bonus for every 10 month for up to 3 years)
That me, 33 years old, licence 2 years, 1 years ncb, parked on the road.
MPG info= does 300+ odd miles on a full tank of gas. Which costs £30ish atm. Less on Petrol obv.
Not too bad. Again, comparible, or slightly better than the 306 Dturbo I was running (price wise). Obviously the 850 is fully loaded with electric and heated everything, much more comfortable, and far cooler. So its a no brainer really.

300+ for £31 summat.Evoman wrote:Sounds good! May do more reaseash, 300 miles for $30?!
Im down to the last fuel indicator light on lpg (on 300 miles now), but its not run out yet.
Hard to judge accuratly as I warm the engine on petrol before switching. Done less than a gallon of petrol over the 300 miles though.
HTH dude.
Gas ftw man.

MPG is hard to work out as its mixed on petrol/Lpg. And LPG gets LESS than petrol.Evoman wrote:Lol nog was meant to be mpg, ducking autocorrect
But miles per £ is better on my pocket compared to the Dturbo (which was getting 45mpg on all local driving).
Thats for sure.

Bout that. Ish. Give or take. If you measure it by expenditure.Evoman wrote:But is equvilant if 60 mpg?
I'll do the math more accuratly when I hit the bottom of the tank.
Cheaper than a good diesel though. Or I wouldnt be doing it.
Re: Stormtrooping 850. Now with boring update.
No, you are right bud. All the fwd stuff is epically overassisted and you end up with little feedback I found. Foggy is a bit of a girl and has never got non pas on a dailyvolvosneverdie wrote:Like theres TOOOO much power steering? So that you dont really feel the road. If that makes sense?
Probly just me.

I dailied Nessy for nearly 2 years, you tart!
I never said anything about feedback. I won't deny that that side of it is just as dead as all the other big Volvos. But the rate at which the front will change direction is impressive for a big barge. Yes, the assistance is probably a bit OTT, but almost everything is like that.
Ah, fair play...thought it'd be a 10v based on the dials being x70-style...I thought only late 10vs got that. Clearly my info is wrong...! Yes, the 20vs need their neck wringing.
The checkstrap may well have been disconnected because it was making a "cracking" sound (i.e. was broken). Stick a bolt in it, and see what happens.
cheers
James

Oh here we go... more rubbish from Chris about the FWD stuff...
Ofcourse a 300 gives more feedback... is it more capable though... no.. not necessarily. I genuinely miss my S70 and I think it's 'real' replacement is going to be very similar - but perhaps with a turbo. I just wish a decent S70 T5 manual was easy to find...!
I also found the steering to be good enough for a big car... and certainly far better than the S40. Didn't feel far too overly assisted, infact it was a pleasant surprise to find it was better than I was expecting when I first drove one.

Note how I only said feedback, not capable! I know what goes round a corner quickest, I also know which I like taking round a corner quickest and they arn't the same thing!
