Cheers Rich.

Someone on VOC pointed that out too.

Think I'll leave them on. Just to be EXTRA lazy.

Also, I seem to have automatic wipers?

There was a lot of dew on the car this moring, started it up and the wiper came on.
Hang on, I didnt turn the wiper on. Check wiper, in off position.
Magic?

I R NIGHTRIDER!

Sure it aint broken? Mine certainly hasn't got auto wipers, infact it hasn't even got a 'push to wipe once' features and it's a CD model. You have to switch it on/off again to get one sweep, irritating :P

S40 has rain sensor, that is if you have one of those fazy latest models, but I don't think T4 ever got one, at least not in that model which VND has, it was from my memory in french cars and on some Ford cars first?

But you never know, maybe it is undocumented feature? Or maybe it has been option which I have not heard of :D

It kinda isn't really :P Ok it was built alongside the Carisma, but it was built at the same factory as the 300 series in the Netherlands. The T4 and 2.0T is a 4 cyl version of the modular whiteblock. I do think the T4 is underrated and always overshadowed by it's T5 cousins - yet performs just as well and handles better. I had a run in with an asbo orange Focus ST last night and we were very evenly matched.

It's a 440 in a dress :p

Granted a rapid 440... I'd love to have a drive of one some point, might steal Steve's next time I see him :D

Your police force used to have T4 models at some point I believe? Those might be bit quicker and even tad better handling ones, maybe possible to find parts from such.

Nice buy VND! I'd love to have a go with that on an autobahn near me.

Are you managing to get away from the lights OK, without the front tyres going up in smoke? I've got this corner near me, a tight right hand bend going up a hill, and I have traction problems even in the 26 bhp Trabi.

Oh, and I love the dash too :-) OEM cassette stereo, and wood ...

Cheers

It gets off the line fine, but 2nd and third are boost country so have to feed it in unless you want the fronts lighting up.
Loads of fun though. I'll recomend T4s to anyone if tou just want straightline acceleration grins.

And I think youll finds its an "OEM cassette stereo AND CD PLAYER, and wood ... " Oh The joys of Moderns. Now i can listen to me Graveyard compact disks on the move.

Aye, they don't get off the line great... I lost out recently to a Mk1 Mr2 in the wet purely because I was spinning the wheels upto 60mph (on Goodyear Eagle F1's!). To be fair I kept up and by the time you're in third it's clear the T4 was a lot faster. However, by the time you're in third you're potentially doing silly speeds so it kinda makes it a bit pointless unless you're on a fast A road or Motorway/Autobahn

Problem is that only B-roads have some possibilities of silly speeds, if I have understood correctly your speedlimits system.

Quaife offers help to traction I believe?

Problem still remains, wheels moving the car are at wrong end, doing steering and moving is always a tradeoff and is loosing if there are turns.

I have had traction problems with Toyota Hiace van, diesel, non turbo, loaded weight with trailer was over 4000kg, highly illegal for sure, but also poor tires that made it thrilling experience on hilly ground as there were ice on roads at winter time.

However you will find there being grip issues with any car that has bit more power, it is just not possible to floor such cars, they need to be driven.

Theoretical FWD power limit is around 300hp, any more and it will not be faster if there are corners, maybe more top speed, but acceleration and going around twisty road is not being helped with more power, with RWD it was higher, but not insanely much higher.

Silly rubbers surely help, but there is limit too.

So I would not even except 200hp FWD car to go well on straight line with such little rubber, it but there is that button at front of gearstick which allows one to keep it floored, don't play with that one and it is perfectly boring thing
