Hi Jani,

We must not obsess about whether an individual actually drives a 300 every day - loving the little buggers is quite enough!

For years I did not even own a 300 let alone have a "daily". I see V3M as a social group as well - and we do have a fantastic forum of real friends here as well as anoraks!

Eventually my project will go back on the road (and Debs will claim back her XC70) when I have run out of bits to powder coat, paint, refurbish, etc.

However I fear you are correct- "regulars" do seem to be fewer these days - the trouble always seems to be that life gets in the way of good intentions!

I'm using the GLT daily. I couldn't go back to something modern, love having something special :)

I never liked the idea of a project car and a boring daily, I'd end up driving the daily and never getting chance for the project. Plus its more the using it daily i like, rather than the plans for the future for the car, if you get me.

Can't see me not being regular on the forum, need my daily fix of volvo 300 :) Can't imagine owning a car without being a regular on a forum / community / owners club etc. even if it were a boring modern thing.

Well, cause I'm a P plater, and a Volvo 360GLT was a great bargain at the time last year, it's my only car so I drive it usually every day almost. It does have it's flaws and it's bad things, but I love it all the same :D

I try to come on the forum as regularly as I can, but have been pretty busy since March so haven't been able too as much.

Although I love my 360, I'm thinking maybe I should start saving up for a new, more reliable car that won't cost as much. I've got this feeling in my head that there's a high risk of it breaking down, based on previous experience, and I have no idea what I would do if it was in the middle of traffic at peak hour with a flat mobile battery or something, so yeah... see what happens :)

EDIT: Also because it drinks... no sorry, sculls fuel like there's no tomorrow... and with current Queensland fuel prices, it's getting pretty expensive (the fuel was nearly empty the other day, and it cost me $60 bucks to fill it up! i usually have to do this weekly :S)

What, you get free petrol in there, how unfair is that ?

Our litre costs 2.22830 of your money units (by converter), can't remember how big tank 360 had, but 50 litres would be 111.415 and that is just average price, where I live we pay over that average price.

12 gallons so 50 L i think

Aye they drink the juice like. So gutted that the petrol station up the road from me has dropped the price by 5p a litre since i started taking the engine apart :( It will be back up to 140.9 by the time the car sees the road again :(

Still, it's worth it :)

Holy christ!! So glad I'm not you guys. Well, it used to only be $1.26 per litre when I first got my car, but price has jumped up to $1.50 last month. And considering most of my mates cars only cost like $40 bucks to fill, it irritates me somewhat. But still.. wow!! :S

Hypermiling should help with 360 and 340 too, you could get easily some 30% better fuel economy with proper driving technic, takes a bit of practise to get most out from that.

My record for french crap is over 1500km with single thank, that worked out as 3.6l/100km, surely there was some aerodynamical improvements too installed, but 5.5l/100km was normal consumption, so there is room for improvement.

With 360 I usually got 10-11l/100km which is piss poor, but then again I did rive like a tool, sure it was fun, but when one gets into hypermiling it can be quite fun too, even when looked outside and without driving such way it might seem boring, but it really is not as there is a lot to plan ahead and competing with oneself from better tanks can be quite satisfying too

I would love to get 360 on road and try to get best mileage out from it, however chances are rather slim for near future at least, my best bet for tranporatation is bicycles at the moment, build one from scratch today, had only frame and broken chain, so gathered and serviced all the parts, 1960's vintage retro thing with crappy modern tires and rear bags:
