Hi guys i have come back home to help clear up. TBH i have had the worst week ever as my other grandfather passed away on Monday, so to come back to this is hard.
The house had water in it up to the kitchen table so pretty much all of downstairs needs replacing, as for the garage its bad i will post some pics up of the damage this week. It looks like i could of lost a pair of struts and fittings to make a pair of adjustable coil overs.
Out the back we had a single concrete garage we used for storage, i use the word HAD there as the water has wiped out the side wall!!
I dont have words to describe how i am feeling right now, i'm just glad my grandparents were away at the time.
Cheers for the words from everyone!!

well its rare to find any benefits to being soft southerners but this seems to be one of those occaisions ,

We have had very few problems around here mind you Highbury towers is on top of a hill , I dont know how the peasants on the lower slopes have fared lol.

As has been said already ,our thoughts are with all of you who have suffered over this horrific week weather wise and I am especially saddenned to hear of your loss Adam .

The floods have been terrible. The village where I live has flooded lower down the hill and its never done than in the 50 years my dads been alive. Theres a "stream" near my house which is about 6 foot below the road. I've never seen with water in, and that had water in level with the road.

Sorry to hear of your loss Adam, and I hope things can be sorted out at the garage and your grandparents home. If there's anything you need, just ask :)
