They have it, there is video of it on youtube, imo ;)

But imagine how in future THEY know your location and speed, at least I feel systems are developed towards that.

Also I find that vision that cars would drive themselves, really disturbing, I prefer to drive my own car the way I like, thank you very much, if I die because of my own error at least I'm not coming back as disturbed ghost 'computer did crash my car, nooo, I refuse to dieee'

Most advanced chip in my current daily ride is perhaps in clock, if we left radio out, there is absolutely no any electronics in it, I wonder how long I can drive such car, there can be soon law that makes driving old cars too expensive, forcing us to use some modern cars, perhaps also using some transponder in them soon, I feel now is time to act against such direction of development.

I do prefer to be able to overtake slower cars safely still, if we get those transponders then it is not possible anymore (some politicians here already has suggested those and there is some work done to find out how to use it for road tolls)

For example here http://www.janiervast.com/videot/fullacceleration.avi , I do break law, acceleration from 85 to 105kph and limit is 100kph, in future I believe I'm forced to stay behind slower vehicle, when driving 1000km it really takes lot of time to get your average speed to 70 or below instead of 90-95 that I do have, it is something like 3 hours less + 100 times less chance to sleep on wheel.

There is going to be some surprising problems in future, when traffic and rules are planned by misunderstanding that traffic flows at same speed, which it never does, something that works for cities and near cities can't really work on routes I'm driving, can do 40km without seeing single other car, why still need to watch my speed more carefully than side of roads where some moose can jump to road?

Beware, there are huge problems coming to traffic in future :?

Exactly Jani. Some people do talk of computers to limit cars to the speed limit, but as you say, that will make overtaking very difficult and dangerous.

I want to stick old skool with limited electronics. 300's have to much electrics for me :P

We could give him helping hand and remove all those crappy electronics, distributor from B19A should help in process nicely

We have already roads with one lane to each direction which do have railing instead of lane paintings, now they are testing cables instead of railings. I feel that is going too far already, maybe you have these too?

Can't get what use it could be else than stopping overtaking, but maybe driver license should be harder to get and maintain instead of these?

Luckily we don't have any of those yet, as far as I know. We do have stupid pedestrian railings at some crossings though to make sure people walk straight across the road instead of diagonally. Stupid things.

More than once I've checked the road is clear, walked diagonally whilst still looking to make sure nothing is coming only to get the other side of the road and realise I'm trapped behind a fence with traffic starting to come  great for safety ;)

As for the car, ripping out all the electronics may not be a good idea ;) But I do have an urge to buy a simple old pickup sometime. Something indestructible :)

Yes, those pedestrian systems sounds like similar design flaw as what we have here, they have not thought it very well, it solves perhaps one problem but creates more problems, if we get more espionage of our lifes with similar design we end up quite badly working society, there are some scifi movies about this subject too and sadly it looks like thing are moving towards that even there is already material that warns about issues.

Get pickup that uses diesel fuel, that you can run even in future when fuels are not available, you can easily make fuel for such ;)

Yup, as fun as big petrol V8 would be, a sensible diesel running on some nice bio diesel from chip fat or crops would be a better choice :D

Yes they will pass the emissions test. And i'm not sure which but if you take one breather pipe off then the car doesn't produce any smoke.
I wouldn't mind having that black merc. It produces some serious power and it moves really fast.

Also if one uses veggie oil there is not smoke ;)

Cummins diesels in those american pickups are quite nice too :)

If speed is banned in future, we still do have offroad and certainly we can produce bit of smoke too as an 'gentle' shout of opinion
