Hi v6man nice to here of someone from my home town before i went ripley codnor way. The 44 estate you mention is beter on the drivers side that faces the road the pasenger not so good. As dafdaffer says he seems to only want it because it is old but is not that intrested in it for any other reason

No the black beauty will not be a winter car even though that was what i was looking for

. The daf 46 eatate will have to do that. I was going to turn the 46 into a van to advertise my company but will have to do the volvo first i think as soon as the conservatory and kitchen ar finished

.

The volvo is a uk car and was sold by speeds of Alfreton, sadley no longer with us and now the site is a job centre plus and the rover dealer on the oposite is a tesco store.

I didnt know the black beauty came to england? thought it was a dutch only special edition.

nice early 343 that, first type of dashboard too!

I don't think many did come to this country I have never seen another that I can think of I just read about them in a book about 6 weeks ago and then found this one.
I will enjoy it when i have finished the work it needs. got a carb to try today so hopfully will be able to start it soon

First type is brown, this is first type, only black one...

It is getting restored? Keep us updated!

yes it will be restored when the work on the house is done in about 2 to 3 months time. it dose not need masses of work as the base car is very good and it polishes up well.

totally amazed!!!!

I discussed this with the president of the Daf Owners Club and James (foggyjames); the general opinion was that the Black Beauty was an unknown type for the UK market.

nice to see the car is saved from worse, it is very strange indeed how some people throw valuable things away like garbage....

Seems a uk reg Black beauty is even more rear than i thought

which is nice.

Would still like another early car to put a red block in. I have found to more early cars in front gardens within about 20 miles of me, may have to try and get one of then after this one is finished.

I'm looking for a 79-80 mk1 343, preferably a GL, at some point...

Either of those cars in front gardens sound like that?

They both sound like that but both very rusty

depends how much work you want to do.

Have to say james to DLS/GLS bonnet on your car is alot better than the standard item, maybe if i get another one i will look for one but not on the black beauty
