I'll check tomorrow what oilfilter my newer 360 has. It's some toyota one but i don't remember what the number is or what model it is for. But it is smaller diameter and shorter. If i remember correctly.

Ehhhm, why do you say that? Fist Lag some more Lag then boooooost and bom! and gearbox gone.. I believe that a engine with instance response is a nice thing when drifting therefore I`m not using a turboxtrmjks wrote:Car looking good, keep going..Turbo's the way!
And I get a much better sound;)
I bought a Renault Clio filter its tiny! And it fitsTourinki wrote:I'll check tomorrow what oilfilter my newer 360 has. It's some toyota one but i don't remember what the number is or what model it is for. But it is smaller diameter and shorter. If i remember correctly.
New axle is in, decided to keep the gearbox that already sat there, also made some holes for hood lock so I can now use the uberlight hood..
ooo i dont know about your turbo comments for drifting.
considering drift cars sit on the limiter most of the time the turbo gives the biggest bang per buck as they say at the top. A small Turbo, Dump Valve and ALS and you dont have much lag at all. You could also argue NA tuning (Like porting the head) to get more power can weaken the head itself and sitting on the limiter all the time...the last thing you want is a weak head/cam/valves...or anyway thing else or that matter.
I'm not having ago at your way of thinking though, NA tuning deffo much smoother and probably the best way to go with the 300 Series power band. Hell it's what im planning for mine now...dropped my turbo idea for my beasty!
Keep it up Nik

there are plenty of reasons why turbo is better than NA and vice versa. Turbo will get lots of power easily, but NA can be more consistent. Remeber that it is possible to build a relatively high compression turbo motor. The main reason most turbo engines have low scr is because it makes them more driver proof i.e. much harder to accidently get the engine to knock. A high scr arrangement with the right turbo can give a huge improvement in driveability but requires a little more thinking to setup.
I would recommend turbo for lots of power, I would go turbo but for now I want to rally the car so am not allowed. (thats not saying I'm giving up on making power though

If you size the turbo appropriately, and don't go for a big headline power figure, turbo should give you a wider spread of power and more peak power. It's win/win as far as I'm concerned. Getting good volumetic efficiency from an NA engine is kinda 'cool', but there's not a lot to lose in going turbo, besides cost and complexity.
A stock B230FK only makes 135bhp, but it would make a much better drift engine than my 140bhp B200, based on my experience with getting the arse-end out.
cheers
